Another sucessful open day at Photouclan on Saturday providing course information guided tours and studio activities for potential students to partake in, if you would like to come and see what we do at Photouclan and all our great facilities please keep checking the website for upcoming open days and applicant days.
BA and MA Photography lecturer, Brian J Morrison will be showing some new and existing works at this years Manchester Contemporary with two exhibition spaces based in the North West.
Alongside artists, Deborah Bowmann, Holly Hendry and Mollie Milton, Brian will make up a quartet of artists represented by Manchester based curatorial collective Collar. Work from Brian’s exhibition Tension at The Birley, Preston will also feature in a booth curated by the Harris Museum’s Clarrisa Corfe.
The Manchester Contemporary runs from 23rd to 25th September with a preview on the 22nd.
The Fieldwork Photography Symposium is a free one-day conference on 9 November 2016 here at UCLan. In addition to the conference there will also be an exhibition of photographic work in UCLan’s PR1 Gallery.

We would like to invite you to the Photo UCLAN exhibition launch event on Wednesday 25th May from 4pm to 7pm at PR1 Gallery, Victoria Building.

Recent Photo UCLAN graduate, Sara Foryame, has seen her work featured in an article on Dazed and Confused magazines digital platform, Dazed Digital.
Sara is one of five artists discussed in the article exploring young female Muslim artists and raises questions around representation, identity and faith.
“Keen to shatter the media’s one-sided portrayal of the Muslim experience, Foryame’s work melds many themes and methods – from photography and collage to reappropriation and surrealism”

Third year BA Photography Lecturer Brian J Morrison will tonight see his art work exhibited in an international photography festival in Poland. Warsaw Photodays is showcasing a number of interesting projects which deal with the expanding field of photography and the theme of Testosterone.
Brian will be exhibiting a piece he produced in 2014 entitled Ripped, Chiseled and Rock Hard, a series of large photographic sculptures of bodies appropriated from the advertising imagery of Muscle and Fitness Magazine during the 1980’s.
This will be Brian’s first European exhibition, having presented his work already across the UK and Ireland.
