The Fieldwork Photography Forum is a two-day event of talks, lectures and workshops being held at the University of Central Lancashire, Preston on November 12th & 13th. The Forum will showcase the work of Photography practitioners and debate a range of issues regarding contemporary issues and practices.
It is being held on both days on the Preston campus in the Media Factory building on the fourth floor in the Media Innovation Suite room 414. The event is part of the Great Northern Creative Festival being held by the School of Film, Media and Performance.

As part of the Great Northern Creative Festival Uclan hosted ‘Mediating the North’ a Conference presenting research papers, films and photographic projects from the North.
Photography Lecturer Mark Reeves presented ‘Pleasure Prom’ a collaboration with David Dennison looking at the new promenade developments in Blackpool. This created some interesting debate around regeneration issues in the north of the Uk and how we present Iconic northern spaces.

Manchester-based third year student Lauren Jo Kelly has been exploring the world of drag through her photography project ‘Life’s a Drag’. Working with five queens, each dressed her as their drag persona, projecting their own alterego onto her.

Current third year student, Bartlomeij Staszowski, has been selected as a finalist for two different categories by Professional Photographer Magazine. This year the competition had over 5000 entries.
